The purpose for IDI model
Instructional design refers to the instructions of systematic specifications to entail activities, objectives, guidance, presentation, evaluation, and feedback. It makes use of learning principles to influence decisions on instructional method, information content, delivery system, and media application. The instructional design plays the purpose of maximizing the instruction value to improve the learning process. Instructions offer an attention on life experience into an optimized and shortened time frame. It also provides feedback with an aim of ensuring that objectives in the learning process are achieved. Instructional Design Institute model permits the wisdom, skills and knowledge of an author or instructor to be effectively demonstrated or communicated personally to the learner (Ausburn, n.d).
This model enables information revolution that fosters economic growth as well as social development. It applies systematic teaching methods to enhance learning efficiency. The instructional design institute model is also applied in to ensure congruence among evaluation, goals, effectiveness, and strategies of the outcome instruction. The model consists of core elements such as development, analysis, implementation, design, and evaluation. It analysis the characteristics of students based on online experience and prerequisite knowledge. It also analyses the learning context in order to evaluate the learners’ bandwidth and available resources for effective completion of assignments and courses. The model can also be applied to define the learning objectives and goals (Gustafson & Branch, 1997).
The model is beneficial in designing and deciding on the key instructional strategies including presentations, lecture, exercises, activities, and projects. In learning development, the model plays the role of constructing an effected and detailed syllabus; develop project resources, assessment items, and course materials. During the learning implementation process, the model play the purpose of assessing the learner, based on the designed assessments process. It guides, monitors, facilitates, and encourages the learners to complete their course. In learning evaluation, the model is applied on formative-instruction and summative- overall effectiveness evaluation (Gustafson & Branch, 1997).
